Modelos de integración y financiamiento en las cadenas agroalimentarias mexicanas

Abstract

Existe una influencia creciente de la globalización en la competencia de los mercados, lo que ha provocado una baja inclusión de los pequeños y medianos productores (Villarreal, 2009). Ante esta problemática, Michael Porter propone una estrategia competitiva basada en la asociatividad de los integrantes de un sector, con el fin de enfrentar los mercados nacionales e internacionales y permitir que los productores logren subsistir (Porter, 1980). El campo mexicano cuenta con un gran potencial que se refleja en el valor de su producción, contribuyendo de manera significativa a la economía del país. Esto se sustenta en el crecimiento del 2.4% registrado durante el primer trimestre de 2018, en donde el sector primario impulsó la economía nacional al alcanzar un incremento del 5.1% en ese mismo periodo. Sin embargo, a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados por los gobiernos federal, estatal y municipal para generar un ambiente favorable para el desarrollo del sector, resulta necesario implementar nuevas estrategias que permitan vincular al sector primario con el mercado internacional y, de esta manera, asegurar un crecimiento sostenido de la producción como vía de desarrollo para México.
