Abertura comercial e a disparidade de renda nos estados brasileiros

Abstract

Este trabalho visa analisar a relação entre abertura comercial e desigualdade de renda nos estados brasileiros, no período entre 1995 e 2007. Para alcançar os objetivos é utilizado o procedimento de dados em painel dinâmico. Os resultados revelam a existência de uma considerável inércia na desigualdade de renda e que a abertura comercial contribui para reduzir a desigualdade da renda, tanto no curto quanto no longo prazo. Isso sugere que a integração dos estados ao comércio mundial contribui para a redução do nível da desigualdade.
