ABERTURA COMERCIAL E MERCADO DE TRABALHO: UMA RESENHA BIBLIOGRÁFICA

Abstract

Este artigo é um survey da literatura empírica acerca da abertura comercial e seus impactos sobre o mercado de trabalho nos países desenvolvidos e em desenvolvimento, com especial ênfase para o caso do Brasil. Verifica-se que, apesar das diferenças metodológicas, há um resultado geral da liberalização comercial dos países desenvolvidos e em desenvolvimento: a mudança na estrutura da demanda de trabalho em favor dos trabalhadores qualificados. Observa-se também que a abertura comercial provoca efeitos diferenciados no mercado de trabalho dos países em desenvolvimento, principalmente porque a abertura não é a única transformação por que passam essas economias, inclusive a brasileira. Nesse caso, sugere-se testar a complementaridade entre a teoria do comércio, a teoria da difusão tecnológica e a entrada de capitais na explicação das mudanças nos indicadores do mercado de trabalho brasileiro.
