Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es elaborar ladrillos ecológicos utilizando caucho reciclado de neumáticos fuera de uso (NFU) y tereftalato de polietileno (PET), sustituyendo de forma parcial los materiales de agregado convencionales, y demostrando que cumplen con las propiedades físicas y mecánicas. Con este propósito, se utilizó un método experimental con un enfoque cuantitativo. Se realizaron tres tratamientos con distintas proporciones de PET y NFU: T-12%, T-24% y T-36%. Los resultados mostraron que la resistencia a la compresión disminuyó al aumentar la proporción de plástico y caucho reciclado, siendo la muestra T-12% la que presentó la mayor resistencia (14.82 kg/cm²). En cuanto a la absorción de agua, los ladrillos con una mayor cantidad de PET y NFU mostraron un aumento en la absorción, alcanzando un 11.15 % para el tratamiento T-36%. Por otro lado, el tratamiento T-12% mostró la mayor densidad (1.88 g/cm³), lo que indica que posee mejores características estructurales. Este estudio demuestra que los ladrillos ecológicos elaborados con materiales reciclados como PET y NFU pueden ser una alternativa viable y sostenible para la construcción, aunque se requiere optimizar las proporciones para alcanzar mejores características mecánicas y funcionales. Los resultados obtenidos abren la puerta a nuevas investigaciones sobre la incorporación de materiales reciclados en la construcción, con el potencial de reducir la contaminación y promover un desarrollo más sostenible en el Perú.
