KANDUNGAN LEMAK BUNGA KECOMBRANG (ETLINGERA ELATIOR) BERDASARKAN PENGUJIAN METODE SOXHLET

Abstract

Tanaman kecombrang memiliki nama yang berbeda-beda disetiap daerah. Di Indonesia, umumnya dikenal dengan kecombrang, di Medan disebut kincung, di Tapanuli Selatan disebut bunga rias, di Tanah Karo disebut asam sekala, di Bali disebut kecicang, di Lampung disebut kumbang sekala, di Minangkabau disebut sambuang, di Banyuwangi disebut lucu, di Bengkulu disebut unji atau honje. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar lemak pada bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) menggunakan metode Soxhlet. Bunga kecombrang yang masih segar dipilih dan diproses dengan menghancurkannya hingga berbentuk granula, lalu diekstraksi dengan pelarut n-heksana. Prosedur ekstraksi dilakukan selama ±5 jam, diikuti dengan recovery pelarut dan pengovenan sisa lemak pada suhu 108°C. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kadar lemak bunga kecombrang sebesar 0,0851%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa bunga kecombrang memiliki kandungan lemak yang sangat rendah, menjadikannya pilihan yang baik untuk diet rendah lemak. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa bunga kecombrang dapat berkontribusi pada diet sehat dan berpotensi dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam industri pangan, mengingat kandungan senyawa bioaktifnya yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan.
