Ciudad segura.

Abstract

In security societies, the citizen is described as a victim and the State appears as the giver of a protection framework to a citizen at risk. This paper proposes to study the logics behind political communication in Argentina. A set of communication pieces included in the 2011 campaign of the Head of Government of Buenos Aires City were analyzed in order to recognize the meanings of victimization, danger and governmentality. This case study allowed identifying some electoral variables regarding the State effectiveness in risk and security control.
