Abstract

The thesis proposes a vocational recommendation tool for prospective higher education students, based on predictive models and real data. Vocational guidance is a key process in the career decision-making phase; however, poor decisions resulting from inaccurate guidance contribute to increasing dropout rates in higher education in Colombia. The research focuses specifically on the Law, Data Science, Business Administration, and Finance programs, using data from current university students. The document provides a detailed description of the methodology employed, which includes a theoretical review, data collection, and information analysis through a structured questionnaire based on Holland’s RIASEC model and the Strong Interest Inventory, as well as the development of a predictive model aimed at generating personalized recommendations.
