Abstract

La investigación de las funciones ejecutivas (FE) se ha centrado en tareas estructuralmente simples y neutras, en contraste con un modelo más ecológico de la cognición, donde el procesamiento emocional es parte activa y constitutiva del proceso cognitivo (Ceric, 2012; Lewis y Todd, 2007; Pessoa, 2009). Uno de los componentes de mayor complejidad en las FE, es la Flexibilidad Cognitiva (FC), definida como la habilidad de explorar la existencia de soluciones alternativas al problema que se está́ resolviendo en un momento dado (Diamond, 2010, 2013). Las emociones actúan en el sistema neurocognitivo como fuente de información, pudiendo modificar drásticamente la conducta de los humanos, activando vías de procesamiento paralelo al sistema convencional, lo que podría interferir o facilitar la respuesta de adultos enfrentados a tareas que requieren de FC (Ceric, 2012). Cuando la tarea a desarrollar cuenta de un contexto con carga emocional es descrita como una tarea “caliente”, a diferencia de las tareas ”frías” caracterizadas por estímulos neutros sin carga emocional. El poster expone el trabajo para evaluar Evaluar en adultos, el impacto en tareas de Flexibilidad Cognitiva con carga emocional y sin ella.
