TRATAMIENTO DE RESIDUOS INDUSTRIALES MEDIANTE TECNOLOGÍA DE PLASMA

Abstract

RESUMEN El tratamiento termico de residuos basado en tecnologia de plasma permite la destruccion de productos organicos mediante procesos piroliticos o de gasificacion, la recuperacion de metales y la vitrificacion del material inorganico restante. Los productos vitrificados resultantes, tras el vaciado del reactor, se caracterizan por una significativa reduccion de volumen respecto al residuo original y unas buenas propiedades para su reutilizacion o almacenamiento. La tecnologia de plasma permite el uso de diferentes gases a bajo caudal, en consecuencia, se pueden controlar las reacciones quimicas dentro del reactor, alcanzandose productividades altas con equipamientos relativamente pequenos. Este proceso pretende ser una alternativa para el reciclaje de materiales, facilitando una solucion a los problemas de tratamiento que se manifiestan en los paises industrializados y consiguiendose ademas una reduccion del volumen de los residuos eliminados.
