Com a resultat del treball iniciat en l'any 2000 dins del grup d'investigació que coordina l’autora, "Didàctica de la Llengua i la Literatura i Pedagogia Crítica", sorgeix aquest llibre al voltant de la formació d'identitats de gènere a través de la LIJ. En aquest sentit, la monografia ofereix una extraordinària oportunitat per apropar-se a una línia de treball en la qual encara necessitem contribucions en profunditat com aquesta, la coherència i exhaustivitat de la qual proposen un panorama ric que entreveu noves possibilitats de desenvolupament.
