Abstract

In the specific socio-economic formations of the region we know today as Latin America, territorial development has been uneven throughout its history, determined by the processes of transformation of its corporate structures characterized by heterogeneity. Since the conquest and colonization by the Iberian empires, the region has followed the process of capital accumulation on a global scale in a situation of subordination to the hegemonic powers in each period. In this article, part of a larger work in progress, a brief historical analysis and a theoretical reflection are carried out on the determinations of this inequality by the relations of production, circulation, exchange and social distribution, which are also unequal and contradictory, starting of the assumption that the development of capitalism in the region has had a process specified by this structural heterogeneity, so that the application of the general laws of capital accumulation in its abstract theoretical form, or in its particularity in the most advanced nations, is not enough for its analysis.
