EL CASTILLO DE PRIEGO (MORATALLA)

Abstract

There is not much information about the castle of Priego before the XIII century, but the archaeology has documented the Muslim presence from the XI-XII centuries. The first written document refers to the donation of Segura to the Order of Santiago by the Prince Alfonso in 1243. Around the castle was found a funeral inscription of 526 H. which has been included in this article.
