Abstract: The article offers an articulation of two variants of transnational civil disobedience. This distinction runs parallel to the distinction between liberal and critical models of civil disobedience, delineated mainly in the context of the discussion at the national level. Thus, we start with a synthesis of the characteristic features of the two models of civil disobedience, and then offer an articulation of their transnational counterparts. Finally, we analyze a phenomenon related to such forms of disobedience, which emerges in contexts of less than full inclusion to citizenship on the side of migrants: the case of «bureaucracy as a border».
