Abstract

Introducción. Las enfermedades cerebrovasculares son un trastorno brusco del flujo sanguíneo cerebral que altera de forma transitoria o permanente la función de una determinada región del encéfalo. Debido a la pandemia COVID-19, es posible que la sobrecarga en la asistencia y los cambios en la organización repercutan en la atención a los pacientes con ictus, pudiendo quedar en un segundo plano al tener que reestructurarse todo el sistema sanitario para dar atención preferente a los pacientes infectados con COVID-19. Objetivo. Analizar la gestión de la asistencia al paciente con ictus durante la pandemia COVID-19. Metodología. La presente revisión sistemática se realizó a partir de la consulta en 5 bases de datos (Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Scielo, Cuiden y Enfispo). Resultados. Se seleccionaron 21 artículos clasificando su información más relevante en dos epígrafes: Datos estadísticos de los pacientes con ictus durante la pandemia COVID-19 y cambios en la organización asistencial y en la atención al paciente con ictus durante la pandemia COVID-19. Conclusiones. El número de pacientes atendidos por ictus y las llamadas por síntomas neurológicos han disminuido, aunque ha habido un aumento de la mortalidad. Se han producido cambios significativos en la organización asistencial y en la atención al paciente con ictus durante la pandemia COVID-19.
