DEMORA DE LA GRATIFICACIÓN EN CONSUMIDORES, EX CONSUMIDORES Y NO CONSUMIDORES DE MARIGUANA

Abstract

El consumo de drogas se ha relacionado con niveles bajos de autocontrol en situaciones de elección entre pares de recompensas que difieren en magnitud y demora de entrega; la preferencia por la recompensa grande a largo plazo se considera el índice de autocontrol. En este estudio se analizó esta relación en un procedimiento de demora de la gratificación, en el cual se considera como conducta autocontrolada al mantenimiento de la elección de la recompensa grande demorada, aun cuando está disponible una recompensa pequeña e inmediata. Se expuso a 35 jóvenes de 25.43 años en promedio, 15 no consumidores, 10 consumidores y 10 ex consumidores de mariguana a una tarea por computadora de demora de la gratificación. Los participantes también respondieron tres cuestionarios de autocontrol que sondearon diferentes aspectos del fenómeno. Los ex consumidores y consumidores mantuvieron por más tiempo su preferencia por las recompensas grandes demoradas que los no consumidores. Respecto a los cuestionarios, el puntaje de autocontrol varió entre e intra participantes como se esperaba por los diferentes aspectos del fenómeno que sondeó cada uno. En contraste con el hallazgo común de que los consumidores de drogas muestran poco autocontrol en situaciones de elección, en este estudio se obtuvieron resultados contradictorios con una tarea de demora de la gratificación.
