Abstract

O presente artigo descreve, de modo minucioso, a construção e a utilização de um interferômetro conhecido como trombone de Quincke, um aparato experimental idealizado para demonstrar a interferência entre ondas sonoras e determinar a velocidade do som no ar. O equipamento foi construído com materiais alternativos, como tubos e conexões de PVC e garrafa PET; e teve, como sensores, aparelhos celulares com aplicativos para emissão de frequência e captação de intensidade sonora. Os resultados obtidos para a velocidade do som no ar a partir do experimento proposto foram bastante satisfatórios, apresentando grande proximidade dos valores previstos em equações e apresentados na literatura.
