Abstract

Medyanın insanları eğitme, bilgilendirme, haberdar etme, eğlendirme ve sosyalleştirme gibi görevleri vardır. Medyadan bu görevleri dördüncü güç kapsamında yerine getirirken halkın ulaşamadığı, gözlemleyemediği ve kontrol edemediği yerleri halk adına denetlemesi beklenir. Bu kapsamda medyanın sunacağı doğru bilgi ile insanların bilinçlenmesi ve siyasi tercihlerinin daha isabetli hale gelmesi sağlanarak demokrasinin güçlenmesi hedeflenir. Günümüzde medyanın sermaye ile bütünleşerek holdingleşmesi, kârı önceleyen bir yapıya bürünmesi ve haber içeriklerinin bağlamından koparılarak stereotipsel olarak ya da bilinçli şekilde yeniden üretilerek okuyucuya sunulması medya ekonomi politiğinin konusu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada medya ekonomi politiği kapsamında gazetelerin haberleri ele alışlarındaki bakış açıları incelenerek, farklılıkları ve yanlı tutumları ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.
