Oralidad en textos no literarios del siglo XVI: Cartas, actas y relatos de viajes

Abstract

Rastrear las huellas de la oralidad en épocas pretéritas resulta paradójico pues, para hacerlo, solo disponemos de textos cuya base material es de naturaleza escrita. Sin embargo, tanto las propuestas teóricas que distinguen entre el medio y la concepción (Koch y Oesterreicher) como el análisis de algunos textos no literarios permiten acercarse con eficacia a la lengua de la inmediatez en el pasado. En este trabajo, después de esbozar el marco en el que se inserta la investigación histórica del español hablado, presentaremos una selección de materiales no literarios del siglo XVI –cartas de particulares a Indias, actas de la Inquisición y relatos de viajes de españoles a China– para evidenciar en ellos distintos rasgos de la “palabra viva”.
