Abstract

El texto de Microbiología y Parasitología constituye un recurso esencial para la comprensión del complejo universo de los microorganismos y parásitos. La microbiología y la parasitología médicas representan ramas fundamentales de las ciencias de la salud, dedicadas al estudio de los agentes biológicos que interaccionan con el ser humano, a menudo causando enfermedades. En un contexto más delimitado, la parasitología médica se refiere al estudio exhaustivo de los organismos biológicos que habitan en el ser humano y son responsables de la aparición de enfermedades. Históricamente, la microbiología médica se ha definido como el análisis de virus, bacterias y hongos patógenos que influyen en la salud de los individuos, mientras que la parasitología médica se especializa en el estudio de protozoos, helmintos y artrópodos que requieren del ser humano para completar su ciclo vital y que son causantes de múltiples patologías.
