Abstract

En el área del El Infiernillo, provincia de Tucumán, el sector denominado TPV1 es un sitio a cielo abierto con abundante material lítico y cerámico en superficie. Este material se presentaba con morfologías y diseños asignables a cronologías previas y posteriores a 2.500 años AP. A partir de esta evidencia se decidió realizar excavaciones que pudieran otorgar un marco cronológico más amplio y certero al contexto recuperado. En este marco, nuestro objetivo es contribuir a la determinación del grado de coherencia e integridad del registro hallado tanto en superficie como en capa. Esto se realizó mediante el análisis comparativo de características del material cerámico que permitieran hacer inferencias sobre los procesos que pudieron actuar sobre el registro arqueológico. Este estudio permitió confirmar la confiabilidad y estabilidad de los contextos en un sitio de ocupaciones humanas recurrentes.
