Desarrollo conceptual de la justicia climática y ambiental.

Abstract

Este artículo de reflexión presenta un análisis sobre el desarrollo conceptual de la justicia ambiental y climática a partir de una revisión de las principales corrientes teóricas, marcos conceptuales, y evolución del término según las narrativas del sexto informe sobre “Impactos, adaptación y vulnerabilidad” del Panel Intergubernamental de Expertos Sobre Cambio Climático (IPCC por sus siglas en inglés). Se destaca cómo la justicia climática ha pasado de ser un concepto secundario para ocupar un lugar central en la narrativa del IPCC sobre el cambio climático. La inclusión de la justicia climática en este informe retoma tres pilares fundamentales de la justicia ambiental: la justicia distributiva, la justicia procedimental y la justicia de reconocimiento, junto con el enfoque de capacidades. Con esto se plantea un marco integral que permite abordar la reducción de la vulnerabilidad y la adaptación al cambio climático como un asunto de equidad y justicia social. Se concluye que, a partir del avance conceptual de la justicia climática que ofrece el IPCC, se amplía el panorama de la investigación sobre cambio climático hacia los estudios regionales, con la finalidad de ofrecer una comprensión más profunda de la interacción entre los efectos del cambio climático y el contexto de territorios específicos.
