Purpose of the article: The article provides a strategic, technical, and economic assessment of the Cernavodă-Isaccea-Chișinău energy interconnection, emphasizing its importance as a model of regional cooperation for enhancing the energy security and independence of the Republic of Moldova. It analyzes the interconnection's capacity for energy intake and supply, investment efficiency, and prospects for trilateral and multilateral cooperation within the evolving European energy framework. Methodology: The research is based on documentary analysis of official and technical sources (ENTSO-E, Transelectrica, Moldelectrica), evaluation of interconnection capacities, infrastructure cost estimation, and regional energy flow modeling. The methodology integrates technical, economic, and geopolitical perspectives to assess Moldova's potential integration into European energy networks. Conclusions: The Cernavodă-Isaccea-Chișinău interconnection is a strategic asset for Moldova's energy independence, enabling access to reliable energy sources and future renewable exports. It strengthens economic and geopolitical stability while fostering cooperation with Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. Originality: The study's originality lies in its integrated and forward-looking approach, combining technical and geopolitical analysis to position Moldova as a potential regional energy hub within the ENTSO-E system.
