Abstract

Campuran aspal hangat (Warmix) merupakan campuran yang memiliki suhu pencampuran serta pemadatan yang bisa dilaksanakan lebih rendah dari pada campuran panas (hotmix). Campuran ini mulai dikembangkan karena memiliki keramahan lingkungan dibanding dengan campuran aspal panas. Salah satu teknologi yang bisa digunakan guna mengurangi suhu pada campuran hangat adalah dengan penambahan bahan aditif. Zeolite bisa digunakan sebagai bahan tambah pada campuran aspal hangat, karena keunikannya yang mampu menyimpan air sehingga saat pencampuran serta pemadatan bisa dilakukan pada suhu yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui penurunan suhu pencampuran serta pemadatan pada campuran Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course (AC – BC) ditambah zeolite dengan variasi 1%, 1,5%, 2% terhadap berat total campuran dengan kadar aspal optimum (KAO) sebesar 5,5% . Pencampuran dilakukan pada suhu 123 – 130°C, serta pemadatan di suhu 111 - 115°C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan zeolite sebesar 1,5% merupakan zeolite paling optimum dengan meningkatnya nilai stabilitas menjadi 1024 kg, untuk nilai VIM menjadi 4,19%. Sedangkan untuk nilai VMA serta Flow cenderung mengalami penurunan menjadi 13,22% serta 2,95 mm namun masih mendekati spesifikasi yang disyaratkan. Sehingga penambahan kadar zeolite 1,5% direkomendasikan untuk campuran ini.
