
During recent years, in European countries, including Poland, increasing involvement in sports and physical activities has been noticed. The aim of the article is to estimate the level of consumer expenses related to sports borne by households in Poland. Using the micro-date from the Polish Research Participation in Sport and Recreation, and the Household Budget Survey the author estimates the share of expenses associated with sports and recreational activities in total households’ expenditures. He calculated that an average Polish household spends 1% of its expenses for products and services related to sports.
