Pandemias

Abstract

Muitas pandemias já ocorreram na humanidade. Os principais fatores que expõem a um risco são observações sobre higiene, manipulação no ecossistema do planeta, aproximação de pessoas, migrações (comerciantes, missionários etc), convivência com animais, a imunidade e a genética da população atingida. Quando os primeiros humanos saíram das cavernas, por serem nômades e não conviverem com animais nem com o lixo, não há registro de epidemias. Há cerca de 12.000 anos, os animais passaram a ser domesticados e passamos a conviver com eles; há 10.000 anos, criamos a agricultura e deixamos de ser nômades e assim aumentamos a população aglutinada até a primeira cidade construída, que foi Ur, na Mesopotâmia, há 4 mil anos. Ao deixarmos de ser nômades passamos a conviver com o lixo. Alguns animais, como as baratas e o Rattus rattus, só existem onde existe um homem, de tanta interdependência. Se encontrarmos uma barata no deserto, por perto tem um ser humano. Os animais humanos, até a criação das cidades, não enfrentaram pragas. A partir daí, os registros sobre epidemias e pandemias são incontáveis, mas algumas chamaram a atenção pelo impacto que produziram.
