Abstract

Siput Mansi (Canarium luhuanus) merupakan salah satu jenis siput dari famili Strombidae, yang hidup di Kepulauan Padaido, diambil dan dijual oleh masyarakat lokal, terutama pada saat melimpah di musim-musim tertentu. Untuk menekan aktifitas penangkapan, dapat dilakukan dengan memberikan penyadaran kepada masyarakat mengenai kondisi biologi dan siklus hidup dari siput mansi, serta melakukan upaya pengelolaan yang lestari. Dengan pengelolaan, dapat menjaga kelestariannya di alam. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad siput mansi, sebagai informasi awal dalam manajemen sumberdaya. Sampel dikumpulkan setiap bulan selama tiga bulan (Januari-September 2015), untuk pengujian histologi. Total sampel yang dikumpulkan sebanyak 81 buah. Perkembangan gonad yang diamati dari hasil histologi gonad setiap bulan, diperoleh gambaran 5 (lima) fase perkembangan gonad sebagai berikut : Tkg 1 (fase pembentukan oosid primer/spermatogonium), Tkg 2 (fase pembentukan oosit sekunder/spermatosid), Tkg 3 (fase pembentukan oosit tersier/spermatid), Tkg 4 (fase matang gonad), Tkg 5 (fase memijah)
