Abstract

Sumber daya perikanan yang sering dimanfaatkan karena mudah untuk memperolehnya adalah seperti moluska. Jenis moluska yang sering dimanfaatkan masyarakat pesisir di Maluku adalah kerang dan siput seperti kerang darah (Anadara granosa), kerang bulu (Anadara antiquata), lola (Trochus niloticus), abalone (Haliotis spp.) dan siput jala (Strombus luhuanus). Adanya aktivitas pemanfaatan yang dilakukan manusia terus-menerus tanpa memperhatikan lingkungan akan mengakibatkan penurunan potensi sumber daya dan degradasi habitat, tidak terkecuali bagi spesies Strombus luhuanus. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini yaitu : mengetahui sebaran ukuran siput jala di perairan Dullah Laut, karakteristik lingkungan hidup siput jala, intensitas tangkap siput jala dan kandungan nutrisi siput jala. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2021 sampai Desember 2021. Pengambilan sampel di lapangan menggunakan metode plot. Ukuran siput jala yang tertangkap tergolong berukuran besar dan dikategorikan dewasa. Karakteristik lingkungan perairan Dullah Laut tergolong cocok untuk kelangsungan hidup siput jala. Belum terjadi tangkap lebih dari siput jala di perairan Dullah Laut. Siput jala memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang cukup tinggi dibandingkan beberapa hewan moluska yang lain.
