Abstract

A adocao de bacias hidrograficas como unidades de planejamento vem sendo defendida por diversos autores como a divisao mais logica e funcional para a gestao de recursos hidricos. Nesta unidade, informacoes ambientais, sociais e economicos estruturadas em um sistema de informacao geografica permitem o mapeamento da sensibilidade ambiental (MSA) das bacias, um importante instrumento de apoio ao planejamento. Neste trabalho foram levantadas metodologias e criterios utilizados/aplicaveis no MSA de bacias hidrograficas, seguido de sua adaptacao para aplicacao em bacias de pequeno porte. Um teste de viabilidade com dados oficiais foi realizado na bacia do Rio dos Cedros, municipio de Rio dos Cedros/SC/Brasil. Como resultado do estudo, o tema mostrou-se arido, com poucas referencias e vieses metodologicos orientados para criterios morfodinâmicos de mapeamento de sensibilidade. A disponibilidade de dados oficiais na escala apropriada ao estudo de bacias de pequeno porte dificultou o teste da metodologia adaptada. Aspecto minimizado pela facilidade com que o MSA pode ser adaptado aos dados disponiveis e a inclusao de dados relacionados as caracteristicas, percepcoes e necessidades das comunidades locais.
