Abstract

Como respuesta a la enseñanza tradicional basada en la repartición y memorización se encuentra el aprendizaje por descubrimiento. Este ensayo tiene por objetivo analizar el método de aprendizaje por descubrimiento y sus ventajas frente a los métodos de enseñanza tradicional; con este propósito se desarrolló un estudio descriptivo de tipo revisión bibliográfica con enfoque cualitativo, sistematizado a través de los métodos hermenéutico y analítico-sintético, así como la técnica de análisis de contenido. Entre los principales hallazgos se tienen: La metodología por descubrimiento supera las limitaciones de las tradicionales, memorísticas y repetitivas, toda vez que se centra en el estudiante como protagonista de su propio aprendizaje, el que construye mediante la búsqueda de solución a las problemáticas planteadas, con el objetivo de aprender a aprender. El aprendizaje por descubrimiento se sustenta en principios como: 1) la autonomía del aprendizaje, 2) el significado es producto del descubrimiento creativo y no verbal, 3) el conocimiento verbal es la clave de la transferencia y 4) el método del descubrimiento es el principal para transmitir el contenido. Una de las principales ventajas de este aprendizaje es el desarrollo de capacidades para ser competentes y desenvolverse plenamente en los ámbitos: educacional, profesional y social. Palabras clave: Aprendizaje tradicional, aprendizaje por descubrimiento, principios, ventajas, aprendizaje significativo. ABSTRACT In response to traditional teaching based on distribution and memorization, discovery learning is found. This essay aims to analyze the discovery learning method and its advantages over traditional teaching methods; For this purpose, a descriptive study of the bibliographic review type was developed with a qualitative approach, systematized through hermeneutic and analytical-synthetic methods, as well as the content analysis technique. Among the main findings are: The methodology by discovery overcomes the limitations of the traditional, rote and repetitive ones, since it focuses on the student as the protagonist of his own learning, which he builds through the search for solutions to the problems raised, with the aim of learning to learn. Discovery learning is based on principles such as: 1) the autonomy of learning, 2) meaning is the product of creative and non-verbal discovery, 3) verbal knowledge is the key to transfer and 4) the method of discovery is the main to transmit the content. One of the main advantages of this learning is the development of skills to be competent and function fully in the fields: educational, professional and social.
