The article theoretically investigates and analyses the problem of forming the national and linguistic personality of a preschool child. The concept of “national language personality” has been examined in the researches of scholars and scientists. The national personality formation has been and remains the subject for scientists’ research in various fields of study.The state language issue has always been and remains relevant, especially in the context of national and patriotic education. At the present stage, the problem of linguistic personality is being studied by both foreign and domestic scholars in various fields. The concept of the Ukrainian preschool education development, which has been studied by L. Artemova, A. Bohush, N. Lysenko, T. Ponimanska, O. Shevchenko, plays an important role for thedeveloping modern approaches to instilling the foundations of national upbringing in older preschool children. The theoretical and methodological foundations of forming a sense of patriotism in children are revealed in the works of Ukrainian researchers I. Bekh, A. Bohush, K. Nazarenko, K. Chorna and others. The psychological aspects of patriotic education of youthwere considered in the works of I. Bekh, K. Chorna, H. Vashchenko. The scientists I. Bekh and K. Chorna pay special attention to the emotional and sensual sphere in the formation of patriotism. The main means of educating the speech personality of a preschool child and preparing him/her for school is the mother tongue. The analysis of scientific works, psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature shows that the issues of pedagogical conditions. systematisation of national and linguistic personality in preschool age, scientific organisationof the preschool children educational process in the spirit of Ukrainian patriotism, using therich experience of generations, namely the sources of the state literary language in the context of modern requirements, remain unresolved despite the availability of a wide range of scientific research in this area.
