Abstract

The Make in India initiative, launched in 2014, is a landmark policy designed to transform India into a global centre for manufacturing, innovation, and design. It aims to shift India’s economic foundation from services to production by fostering industrial growth, innovation, and self-reliance. Through investments, infrastructure development, and policy reforms, the initiative seeks to enhance employment, skill development, and global competitiveness. Despite challenges such as infrastructural bottlenecks, skill mismatches, and regulatory hurdles, Make in India presents vast opportunities for sustainable industrial expansion and economic resilience in the 21st century.
