Influencia de las tensiones residuales de mecanizado en las propiedades mecánicas de Y-TZP

Abstract

En esta tesis se han desarrollado microestructuras mediante tratamientos térmicos de 2,5Y-TZP, las cuales con la adición de tensiones residuales de mecanizado, experimentan un aumento de la resistencia y la tenacidad de fractura. La microestructura con mejores propiedades se obtuvo para la temperatura de 1650 C con un tiempo de permanencia de 40 minutos (40M), y está compuesta por granos tetragonales y granos compuestos por precipitados tetragonales y matriz de fase cúbica. El crecimiento del grano tetragonal produce el aumento de la transformabilidad y un consecuente incremento de la tenacidad. La resistencia a la fractura aumenta, pero si el grano tetragonal es mayor de 1 m disminuye ligeramente debido a que los defectos que originan la fractura aumentan más que la tenacidad.<br/><br/>Los procesos de mecanizado estudiados inducen tensiones residuales de compresión en la superficie, lo que ocasiona el aumento de la resistencia y la tenacidad de fractura. La transformación de fase de tetragonal a monoclínico sólo se produce durante el rectificado del material tratado durante 10 horas (mayor transformabilidad). El proceso de desbaste plano no ocasiona la transformación de la fase tetragonal en los materiales analizados, sin embargo produce la transformación de fase de monoclínico a tetragonal.<br/><br/>Las tensiones residuales de mecanizado aumentan la resistencia al daño por contacto, porque disminuye el daño cuasiplástico subsuperficial, y no se forma daño alrededor de la zona de contacto en las muestras ensayadas a fatiga de contacto.<br/><br/>Las tensiones residuales aumentan la resistencia al choque térmico. Los resultados demuestran que no se produce agrietamiento, ni transformación de fase bajo estas condiciones de ensayo. Las tensiones residuales no disminuyen durante el choque térmico, y se oponen a la propagación de la fisuras de indentación, manteniéndose además las propiedades mecánicas.
