Thomas Tanase est maître de conférences en histoire de la Méditerranée médiévale depuis 2022 à l'université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Il est spécialiste des relations entre l’Occident latin et le monde mongol ; ses recherches portent sur les croisades et l’expansion latine médiévale. Il a notamment publié une biographie de Marco Polo, Paris, Ellipses, 2016 et une Histoire de la papauté en Occident, Paris, Gallimard/Folio histoire, 2019. thomas.tanase@univ-paris1.fr
