Abstract

Juan de Mena (1411-1456) fue uno de los poetas más influyentes de la literatura castellana del siglo XV y figura clave del prehumanismo hispánico. Estrechamente vinculado a la corte de Juan II de Castilla, Mena se distinguió por su dominio del arte retórico y por su afán de dotar al castellano de una dignidad literaria comparable a la del latín. Su obra se caracteriza por un estilo culto y complejo, cargado de alusiones mitológicas, referencias históricas y un notable empleo de recursos latinizantes...
