As Diferentes Causas da Infodemia

Abstract

A infodemia, que se caracteriza como a disseminação de informação que inclui informação falsa, é um dos grandes problemas da actualidade, e um dos grandes desafios para a comunicação de ciência. Embora a dispersão de informação falsa não seja uma novidade, os meios de comunicação atuais e a rapidez com que se transmite uma mensagem tornam difícil a tarefa de a controlar. Mas o que está a causar este fenómeno e quem é que está a contribuir? A resposta que ocorre com frequência é que a culpa é do público, pela sua dificuldade em distinguir quais as fontes de informação fidedignas. Mas gostaria de fazer uma reflexão sobre outros possíveis fatores e instituições que poderão estar a contribuir, de forma direta ou indireta, para a infodemia. Neste artigo irei expor os diferentes intervenientes que vão desde os média até aos próprios cientistas e de que forma contribuíram para este flagelo.
