
Earthquake prediction remains one of the most challenging objectives in geoscience, with serious consequences for disaster preparedness and risk mitigation. The European Space Agency’s Swarm satellite mission provides a unique opportunity to investigate potential earthquake precursors through high-resolution measurements of the Earth’s magnetic field and electron density in the ionosphere. This chapter explores how Swarm satellite data are utilized to detect geomagnetic field and electron density anomalies that may precede significant seismic events. The results analyses present interesting findings, where anomalies in temperature and magnetic field, preceding the considered Earthquakes (EQs), are confirmed through different methods. Through a synthesis of recent research and technological advancements, this chapter provides an up-to-date overview of the role of Swarm satellite data in earthquake precursor detection.
