Abstract

El profesor SERENI nos presenta este magnífico libro, el cual tiene como propósito el estudio del proceso civil de cognición en los Estados Unidos. Estamos ante un trabajo modesto en su extensión, pero copiosamente riguroso en su análisis y reflexión. Tres capítulos fueron suficientes para explorar, de modo brillante, los aspectos más importantes de las distintas fases del derecho procesal civil regulado en las Federal Rules of Civil Procedure y las leyes de juzgamiento del Estado de Nueva York. Por tanto, como se puede observar el estudio del modelo de justicia civil norteamericano, desarrollado brillantemente en la obra del profesor SERENI, no es una simple opción en favor del incremento de información jurídica, sino una responsabilidad de estudiantes de Derecho, abogados, jueces, legisladores y en general de todos los interesados y destinatarios de la justicia civil.(Del Prólogo del libro)
