Abstract

A UTI é um setor que oferece cuidados aos pacientes que apresentam instabilidade clínica grave, propõe tratamentos complexos que garantem a sobrevivência e a melhoria do estado geral de saúde dos pacientes. Este ambiente também expõe o paciente a situações extremamente difíceis do ponto de vista emocional e que necessitam de uma atenção especializada. O adoecimento de uma pessoa e sua internação na UTI também implica numa modificação da dinâmica familiar. A equipe também poderá vir a ser bastante solicitada pelo paciente e familiares, tanto do ponto de vista técnico como também do ponto de vista emocional. O impacto dos aspectos envolvidos no tratamento do paciente grave e tudo que envolve este cuidado causam impacto na equipe cuidadora e faz com que esta desenvolva mecanismos de defesa para lidar com as situações de conflito. O Programa de Ligação em Saúde Mental na UTI do Hospital São Paulo/UNIFESP atua na tríade pacientefamília-equipe com objetivo de ressaltar a importância dos aspectos emocionais e das intervenções psicossociais voltadas para o bem-estar do paciente e familiar, assim como promover discussões com a equipe, instrumentalizando-a para o cuidado ao paciente grave nas diversas fases do tratamento.
