La traducción es una ballena impaciente

Abstract

En esta conferencia se trata de acercar dos palabras que normalmente están lejos una de la otra, es decir la palabra “ballena” y la palabra “traducción”. Y como si eso no fuera suficiente, se añaden dos extensiones de este acercamiento que son la frontera y la migración. La frontera y la migración han sido relacionadas frecuentemente con la traducción, la ballena sin embargo podría situar todo esto bajo luces que, me parece, no alumbraron todavía la teoría al respecto. La ballena que permite plantear el concepto del “effaçonnement” (en español, el “elaborramiento”, con dos “r”). Es decir el acto simultaneo de borrar y configurar, de deconstruir y reconstruir. La ballena que es también metáfora de migración puesto que antes de vivir en el agua era un animal terrestre. El hecho de que no se haya, en sus transformaciones (es decir sus elaborramientos) liberado de su pulmón hace de ella un ser que ya no es de la tierra sin todavía ser del mar. Tal como un libro traducido (es decir elaborrado) ya no es el libro del autor sin ser todavía del traductor.
