Abstract

La investigación pretende evidenciar la transformación sociodemográfica de Bolivia, afirmando la condicióntransversal del concepto “ciudad intermedia”, en un país que no es más rural, sino urbano y con una altaconcentración poblacional en sus grandes urbes. Para este ejercicio se pretende superar la definición de ciudadintermedia debido a la talla demográfica, centrando el trabajo en las funciones que cumple la ciudad haciaadentro y como nodo articulador en relación a otras regiones del país. La investigación es un estudio de caso(cinco municipios elegidos a discreción), con carácter no experimental, descriptivo, transversal de tipo mixto.Para el ejercicio se establecieron siete dimensiones de análisis, que se estudiaron a partir de un trabajo de campo cualitativo con entrevistas en profundidad a informantes clave y el diseño dos instrumentos de medición ad hoc en escala tipo Likert, para los que se estableció la fiabilidad y consistencia interna y con los que se pretende luego establecer una escala de categorización de ciudades con potencial nodal a partir de la percepción de la población local y el equipo de expertos consultado.
