Abstract

Las radiaciones ionizantes constituyen el mayor riesgo al que se exponen los trabajadores sanitarios que están en contacto con ellas, por lo que resulta primordial identificar las situaciones riesgosas. La exposición ocupacional a las radiaciones ionizantes puede impactar en forma negativa en la salud de quienes trabajan en los servicios hospitalarios. Por esta razón, es necesario el abordaje de las buenas prácticas, para reducir la exposición al riesgo de los trabajadores que se desempeñan en el área de radiología y radiodiagnóstico. En la Argentina, la Superintendencia de Riesgos del Trabajo (SRT) publicó el Manual de buenas prácticas. Tecnologías radiológicas/radiodiagnóstico (2019), como una forma de sistematizar los principios de la prevención riesgos en el trabajo para este sector de la medicina. Este manual es producto del aporte de distintos organismos y asociaciones, por lo que ofrece un abordaje integral que considera distintos aspectos. El presente artículo aborda la prevención de los accidentes laborales en radiología y radiodiagnóstico, tomando como punto de referencia el mencionado manual. En un primer momento se hace alusión a lo que concierne a la exposición, para pasar, en un segundo momento, a la práctica centrada en la minimización de riesgos.
