Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk upaya dalam mengetahui sesuatu yang belum pasti menjadi lebih pasti yang dilandaskan dari sebuah temuan dalam inti permasalahan. Teknik pengujian reliabilitas merupakan salah satu kesulitan yang umumnya dialami mahasiswa dan peneliti pemula. Kenyataan tersebut mendorong penulis untuk menguraikan secara mendetail tentang prosedur pengujian reliabilitas kuesioner penelitian kuantitatif. Fokus penulisan dalam bab ini ialah tentang konsep, prosedur analisis, dan teknik pelaporan hasil uji reliabilitas. Secara khusus, teknik pengujian reliabilitas dengan SPSS untuk menguji nilai koefisien alpha Cronbach. Secara khusus, konsep reliabilitas mengacu pada konsistensi hasil skor pada item-item yang terdapat pada kuesioner sehingga uji reliabilitas sesungguhnya menguji ketepatan skala-skala pengukuran instrumen penelitian. Dengan demikian, tujuan utama uji reliabilitas instrumen penelitian ialah untuk mengukur konsistensi alat ukur yang digunakan peneliti kuantitatif. Dalam konteks ini, peneliti hendak mengetahui apakah terdapat ketepatan hasil pengukuran pada sampel yang sama dalam waktu yang berbeda. Dengan kata lain, sebuah instrumen penelitian, misalnya kuesioner dinyatakan reliabel jika instrumen tersebut dapat menyediakan hasil skor yang konsisten pada setiap pengukuran. Dengan demikian, alat pengukuran tersebut (butir-butir pernyataan/pertanyaan) tetap menyediakan hasil pengukuran yang konsisten dalam waktu yang berbeda.
