Abstract

Daun kedondong merupakan salah satu tanaman herbal yang memiliki kandungan flavonoid, saponin dsn tanin yang memiliki evektifitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbandingan konsentrasi Natrium alginat dan Propilen glikol terhadap stabilitas fisik gel Hand sanitizer ekstrak daun kedondong (Spondias dulcis parkinson). Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan membandingkan konsentrasi natrium alginat dan propilen glikol dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda pada ketiga formulasi. Adapun konsentrasi yang digunakan yitu 3%, 4,5%, dan 6% dan 5%, 10%, 15%. Ketiga formulasi akan diuji mutu fisiknya dan diuji stabilitas fisiknya selama 4 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula 3 dengan konsentrasi natrium alginat 6% dan propilen glikol 15% memiliki uji mutu fisik yang baik sesuai dengan standar. Berdasarkan hasil uji stabilitas menunjukkan sediaan gel yang stabil dengan rata-rata pH (6,275), daya lekat (1,554), daya sebar (6,415), dan viskositas (3375). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu gel Hand sanitizer pada formula 3 memiliki stabilitas fisik yang baik selama penyimpanan 4 minggu
