Rizobacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal: hacia una agricultura sostenible

Abstract

La creciente preocupación por el medio ambiente y por el agotamiento de los recursos, tanto petrolíferos como en lo referente a la alimentación mundial, potencia los estudios de métodos de fertilización basados en microorganismos. Se pretende que los bioinoculantes sean una alternativa a los fertilizantes químicos que, además de depender del petróleo, son irrespetuosos con el medio ambiente y pueden afectar a la salud humana. A ello se le suma la creciente demanda de alimentos y la paulatina degradación del suelo de cultivo, por lo que se hace necesario aumentar la productividad agrícola mediante un modelo de desarrollo sostenible, basado en la producción de alimentos seguros y de calidad en armonía con el medio ambiente.
