PEMANFAATAN KULIT NANAS (Ananas Comosus L.Merr) SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU BIOETANOL

Abstract

<p><em>Nanas saat ini hanya dimanfaatkan buahnya saja, selain dikomsumsi sebagai buah segar nanas juga banyak digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri pangan. Dari hasil pengolahan bahan pangan tersebut maka limbah kulit buah nanas yang dihasilkan cukup banyak.</em><em> </em><em>Kulit buah nanas mengandung </em><em>karbohidrat sebesar 17,53%, </em><em>dengan kandungan karbohidrat </em><em>maka memungkinkan kulit buah nanas </em><em>untuk </em><em>dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan bioetanol. Bioetanol itu sendiri merupakan cairan biokimia dari proses fermentasi gula yang bersumber dari karbohidrat dengan menggunakan bantuan mikroorganisme.</em><em> Penelitian ini menggunakan metode </em><em>analisa diskriptif</em><em> dimana penelitian disusun dengan</em><em> </em><em>bertahap meliputi penetapan variabel, penyusunan metode kerja serta perhitungan dengan metode analisa data untuk </em><em>mendeskripsikan data yang diperoleh serta mengambil </em><em>kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian. </em><em>Variabel berubah yang telah digunakan yaitu kadar glukosa dan jumlah starter. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menggunakan kadar glukosa 13,98 % dan jumlah jumlah starter yang digunakan 20 gram menghasilkan kadar bioethanol tertinggi yaitu 43,44%. </em></p>
