PROTOCOLOS DE DIAGNÓSTICO DA AGORAFOBIA

Abstract

A agorafobia é um transtorno de ansiedade caracterizado por medo intenso de situações nas quais a fuga pode ser difícil ou embaraçosa, ou onde a ajuda pode não estar disponível. O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os principais protocolos de diagnóstico da agorafobia, com ênfase nos sistemas classificatórios DSM-5 e CID, bem como discutir os critérios clínicos, etapas do processo diagnóstico e desafios avaliativos. Trata-se de uma revisão teórica baseada em literatura científica da área da psicologia e psiquiatria. Os resultados indicam que, embora haja avanços na padronização diagnóstica, persistem desafios relacionados à heterogeneidade dos sintomas e à presença de comorbidades. Conclui-se que o diagnóstico eficaz requer uma avaliação clínica abrangente, integrada e baseada em critérios científicos atualizados. A capacitação dos profissionais de saúde, é fundamental para a aplicação adequada dos protocolos diagnósticos e para a identificação precoce dos sinais e sintomas da agorafobia. No contexto dos transtornos de ansiedade, incluindo a agorafobia, a abordagem terapêutica deve considerar a gravidade dos sintomas, sendo a terapia cognitivo-comportamental recomendada como primeira linha para casos leves a moderados. Entretanto, em situações mais graves, como presença de ataques de pânico ou prejuízo funcional importante, a farmacoterapia pode ser necessária.
