Tanaman herbal penurunan glukosa darah pada penderita Diabetes Melitus

Abstract

Diabetes melitus merupakan masalah kesehatan yang mengalami kenaikan kasus di setiap tahunnya. Kondisi ini terjadi saat tubuh tidak dapat memproses gula dalam darah sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Cara mengatasi diabetes melitus adalah melalui terapi perbaikan pola makan, olahraga, dan konsumsi obat-obatan. Konsumsi obat-obatan farmasi yang dilakukan dalam jangka waktu panjang dapat menimbulkan berbagai efek samping pada tubuh. Pengobatan tamanan herbal dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi diabetes melitus tanpa menimbulkan efek samping.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meninjau berbagai macam tanaman yang dapat menjadi alternatif pengobatan diabetes melitus. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan studi literatur jurnal yang dicari melalui google scholar dan crossref. Hasil studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga jurnal yang dipelajari, jenis tanaman seperti daun sirsak, daun belimbing wuluh, dan daun kelor terbukti dapat mengurangi kadar glukosa, mengoptimalisasi kinerja pankreas, dan menormalisasi kerja insulin. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa daun sirsak, daun belimbing wuluh, dan daun kelor dapat mengatasi penyakit diabetes melitus disebabkan kandungan zat biologis aktif yang ada di dalamnya.
