Aprovechamiento de especies tropicales para la fitorremediación de medios contaminados, un estudio de revisión

Abstract

El presente artículo de revisión fue realizado con la finalidad de compilar información del aprovechamiento de especies amazónicas en la fitorremediación de medios contaminados. Diversos estudios han demostrado la potencialidad de diversas especies amazónicas actuando como biofiltros removiendo, transformando degradando, y/o concentrando peligrosos contaminantes presentes ecosistemas naturales mediante procesos bioquímicos inherentes a su ciclo de vida. De esta forma, se identificaron plantas amazónicas con capacidad de remover metales pesados, depurar residuos de fármacos, microorganismos, y minimizar cargas de hidrocarburos tanto en agua como en suelo. Esta revisión, recopila la información de 22 artículos científicos de investigación experimental en dos campos de estudio: fitorremediación en suelos y fitorremediación en medios acuosos. Para lo cual, se buscaron artículos científicos publicados en los últimos 10 años en las bases de datos Sciencedirect, Dialnet y Scielo.
