
Nos estudos sobre bibliometria existe uma tendência de cientistas famosos obterem mais crédito do que cientistas não famosos, por trabalhos similares. O mesmo se aplica a revistas científicas, que obtém mais crédito que outras que divulgam trabalhos de relevância equivalente ou mesmo superior. Esta situação tende a perpetuar uma estrutura de incentivos e políticas que acabam por concentrar a publicação intelectual em poucos periódicos, provocando maior repercussão de suas edições e modificando a forma de se divulgar e produzir ciência. Este texto propõe uma reflexão sobre o processo de melhor qualificar as revistas da área de ciências sociais pelo que hoje se conhece como processo de indexação, explorando a complexa taxonomia sobre o tema.
