Interseccionalidad, las inequidades se acumulan

Abstract

Los DSS comprenden los contextos socioeconómicos, culturales y políticos en que las personas viven, así como las políticas y la distribución de recursos que estructuran la sociedad. Las diferencias en salud injustas y evitables entre grupos poblacionales son las desigualdades sociales en salud. La interseccionalidad es una perspectiva que ofrece un marco conceptual desde el cual poder pensar, investigar y actuar sobre las desigualdades y las discriminaciones y cómo se desarrollan. Explica cómo los diferentes ejes de desigualdad (el género, la orientación sexual, la clase social, la etnicidad, el origen, la nacionalidad, la religión, la edad, la discapacidad, etc.) se viven de forma asimétrica según las posiciones sociales. Esta mirada busca reflexionar sobre la semejanza, la diferencia y su relación con el poder, teniendo en cuenta el lugar, como espacio social, y las emociones como formas de expresar vulnerabilidad y desigualdad. Como dice el título del artículo, las inequidades no se suman, son en sí mismas y se acumulan, se entretejen.
